PHOENIX-September 29, 2004-The National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry (NCCHM), www.ncchm.org announces its collaboration with Esperanza USA in a new initiative funded by The Pew Charitable Trusts to help educate and build the capacity of faith-based service providers.
NCCHM and Esperanza USA, www.esperanza.us will target Latino faith-based service providers in particular, providing intensive leadership training to 50 promising Latino organizations drawn from four major metropolitan areas-Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and New York-so they can better serve their communities.

Other partners in the initiative include Harvard University, Baylor University, Sagamore Institute and the National Crime Prevention Council.
Kenneth G. Davis, NCCHM’s outgoing president, is delighted with the opportunity the Pew grant provides. “The Pew Charitable Trusts again takes the lead in promoting Latino success. Although NCCHM has received other grants this year and an upswing in donations, this money and the partnerships involved also strengthens NCCHM to continue its mission to promote the leadership of Hispanics in the United States.”
The National Catholic Council for Hispanic Ministry provides a national network and forum for the religious, social, professional and civic advancement of Roman Catholic Hispanics in the United States. NCCHM is a vehicle for communication, reflection, dialogue and collaboration among national and regional ministerial/professional organizations, institutes, movements and religious congregations of men and women.
